The name Janey (specifically "Janey girl") comes from the 1958 movie "The Blob" starring Steve McQueen and Aneta Corsaut. The character played by Ms. Corsaut was refered to as "Janey girl" in the beginning of the movie, much to her character's disapproval.
lyrics
I think your groovy Janey girl
'Cause when you wink at me
I wanna go steady
Well, I am done with the world
But your father told me,
"My daughter died"
Well, who do I run to?
Who do I run to?
(CHORUS)
Janey, don't you die
I wanna to save you
Janey, come back alive
I wanna save you tonight
You haunt the microphone
And it just won't stop
I catch a double spook show
And drive alone
To where the kids are at the hop
I can barely take it anymore
Well, who do I run to?
Who do I run to?
(CHORUS)
Janey, don't you die
I wanna to save you
Janey, come back alive
I wanna save you tonight
You came to me through my headlights on the road
You took me and drowned me in the cove
Down in the deep
(CHORUS)
Janey, I won't let you die
I can save you
Janey, we'll come back alive
I can save you...
Tonight!
